Paddy Irish Man.

For all those Irish men - like me!!

The Irish man in all his glory,

All his red curls, his entire story,

Rough hands from the farm,

Smooth hair from clear waters,

Unrest in the mind,

The cows out to slaughter,

From hill to glen,

Across this great country,

A secret kept,

From all that is sundry,

From Paddy to Jack,

From east to west,

We are the Irish,

We are the best.

I have to agree with you that Ireland is probably the best (ignoring the fact that I'm English). The imagery in this poem is fantastic, and I love how the last part is so simple but great.

I like the juxtaposistion between the Irish man and the Irish land. it would be cool if you used the Irish countryside to personify the Irish man. I think it would be a unique metaphor

I ADORE this! It is so simple in its beauty! I will simply have to add this to my library! I do agree, even though (sadly) I am not Irish, they are the best! I admit I love the Irish accent!
