ABOVE.

ABOVE.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

My take on how religion, not faith, can read in the mind.

"

The being of one, the truth of another,

Broken promises to you the one our ruler,

Be forgotten your commandments we shout aloud,

Yet the early hours of the seventh day,

Bring lie and false witness,

Dare we the flesh bring through the barrier of reality,

Even though above thinks fantasy is all but fiction,

Even though his followers be true fiction as reality,

Dare he condemn?

Dare we cry?

For the truth is in the mist as we come alive.

Having dealt with religious fanaticism and tribalism I can tell you seriously twisted interpretations of holy words in the hands of the unreasonably Xenophobic is a sure fire catastrophe with a short, quick fuse.
Really good poem Thomas. Great Photo of you too. You're a rather handsome lad.

Oh no! Not the truth! Nobody wants that... do they? I mean, how is one to earn an honest living if they fail to bear false witness? You bring up some great points here, unfortunately to which there may never be any answers, still the write and the poetry of it all works well and so summons this response: nice work!

Amazingly gutsy and so very strong. I'm glad that you have the courage to stand up against the views of so many people, including myself. I do agree with Neva though, we shouldn't conform to what everyone else believes. We should stand up for what we are led to believe, no matter what that is.

My my, quite straightforward, I like that. I am personally buddhist, and even so I really do hate how people have rewritten religion to go against certain beings or group of people.

seems to create a story, a fallen king, and the powers that people can hold over you. Wonderful job!

Really makes you sit down and ponder.

Ahh i love this! So true. I actually don't consider myself religious at all. I'm more spiritual. And really, sometimes i find that religious people don't always seem to know what their talking about. And all they do is convert..convert others..forcing their religion on others.. I believe we'd be in peace if everyone would be accepting and be more open-minded. =) Lovely write. YOU speak the truth!
