A Mother's Goodbye.

A Mother's Goodbye.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

For anyone who has lost their Mother - my prayer is with you! This was written for my Grandmother (My Mother's, Mother). However I do dedicate it to all Mother's no longer with us!

"
A stare of blindness,
A touch of prayer,
A cast of silence,
Your no longer there.
A Mother's touch,
A heart of gold,
A mind of secrets,
None you told.
A home you made,
A home for all,
A home that's safe,
The home did fall.
A Mother is gone,
An angel is born,
A memory has left,
Her children torn.
A love has not stopped,
A love is still here,
A love is forever,
Her love is near.

This is so beautiful, and simple, and true -- now I know this poem has had over 600 views, and I would not be able to go thru them all, but the first your seems like it should be you're, but was pointed out previously, so maybe you intended it that way.

Touching, respectful, lovely, and a precious tribute to all mothers!! Mine is still with me but my dearest grandmother is not and I long for her at times and I truly know her love is still forever near!
Thank you for sharing such love - such a sweet prayer!

A beautiful and sad poem. I was raised by kind Grandparent. Their memories of love made me who I'm today. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

My wife and I, as are our children, are doing our collective best to deal with the fact that my mother -in-law has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer recently. She has her good days and much more frequently now, her bad ones. I love her like she was my own mom, and it's hard to just go over to her house and see her in her current condition, especially for my wife. But, we do.
When I read this, I thought of her. What a touching tribute this is.
