For anyone who has lost their Mother - my prayer is with you! This was written for my Grandmother (My Mother's, Mother). However I do dedicate it to all Mother's no longer with us!
This is so beautiful, and simple, and true -- now I know this poem has had over 600 views, and I would not be able to go thru them all, but the first your seems like it should be you're, but was pointed out previously, so maybe you intended it that way.

The intention is correct, thank you, this is a piece that sits with me still.
Losing people close to you is inevitable unless you simply have no heart. A wonderful tribute Thomas. I particularly like this stanza:
A Mother is gone,
An angel is born,
A memory has left,
Her children torn.
I lost my Mom to Cancer when I was 24. She never got to see but only one of her grandchildren and we all miss her still today. She was the glue holding us all together as a family, and when she left we were 'torn' in more ways than one.
I think you have a typo.... 'your no longer there' should be 'you're no longer there'.
Haven't been on in a while but its always good to sign on and see these beautiful words waiting in my read requests...thank you for sharing! Always a pleasure:)
I think its written with great honesty and faith. Reminds us that death makes angels of us all. Beautiful. Inspired me to post one that I have written recently for my grandfather who is currently on his death bed.
I think you did a wonderful job describing what its like to lose a mother. I like that the core of your poem was so powerful. I also like that the poem was just the right length. Thanks for sharing.
This is a very touching piece. Your rhyme scheme runs smoothly throughout the entire poem, and the heart wrenching story that you display is very emotional. It is sad that these things happen in life, and it is a good thing that you can express your emotions through writing, instead of other means. Great job, Thomas.
Your first line got me in the heart..My mom was blind the last ten years of her life..we lost a part of her then..her humor...her poetry writing..her crabbiness that came with her illness made us miss the old her so much.Nice one kiddo..Love Kathie
To all who know by now - I love you.
For those that don't, I review a lot of work on here, and I expect the same in return, friend me but make sure to have conviction! I'm a horror writer mostly bu.. more..
