The Color Blood

The Color Blood

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A statement to those of difference

"
His skin soft his hair short,
His muscles defined his name tort,
Her nails long her lashes curled,
Her eyes sparkling singing her world,
Taunt their enemy black their curse,
Brown their confusion KKK there worse,
The same as I gone in the flood,
We came one way the colour blood

well now … I purposefully find my way to the earliest entry or perhaps the one that has migrated to the last line in order to see just where this venture has launched
this piece is as good as one gets
strong truth
well done! so very well done!

Red, white, yellow or red, we are all the same under our skin. God made us all. Valentine

This speaks in a sad voice about how we treat those of difference Thomas. I guess we all hope things have improved but the question is have we simply shifted the deck chairs and do we now hide our prejudice more?

Indeed my darling. Thank you.
You inspired me to verse ..

We like to judge and differences are the fodder
But in the end we are all one and connected
Judging the difference of another man as less
But one hair claiming supremacy over the others

Thank you Pryde.
This is very powerful, and telling of your own beliefs that are in fact, not beliefs, but truths.

Indeed, thank you x
Great little piece Mr. Fitzgerald...I met a woman who was raised in the KKK…she said it was because of their hatred..she knew their views were wrong and when she was old enough..broke free of her family…
What color is a soul? ( ;

To me this shows a culture in conflict.

I have known people who lived in hate. Their eyes are blind raised by bad examples. Blood is blood. People who rate a person by appearance or race end up learning too late. We are all flesh and bones. Just needing more or less. Strong words open the door to many reaction in this poem. Thank you for your direct and honest words. A excellent poem.
