Bloody Mesh!

Bloody Mesh!

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A fresh look for an old poet - good to be back!

"
Slack muscle lends heat to the tiresome,
Blackened heath's fire homes to the ground,
Galvanized sheds leave little to ponder,
Take heed in times forever to pound.

Sleeping pigs look forward to rest,
Place a hand on willing burnt flesh,
Taken innocence a lie forever melt,
Abide those horrid bloody mesh.

Slap him silly shouts the town fool,
Idiots gather to watch a spritely show,
Fair maidens hide the scars of men,
Oh to be old and lay waste to the blow.

Final hours creep into the day quick,
Shaken cores now hide in plain sight,
Yes my fellow readers and poets hear,
I'm back and ready for the worded fight!

The way you blend in irony to create some form of comedy is quite interesting. But definitions also take place and I kinda like it. Like how you mention sleeping pigs and they seek for rest still. It's quite a thought, and many ways to understand this. Perhaps laziness, perhaps greed, but I'd like it to mean, as a metaphor for, you are a swimmer so you swim, you are a writer, so you write ;)

Thank you.
This poem carries hope and a message to people who have been away from some place for so long, or who have neglected things that should not been neglected.. A nice use of rhymes and a pleasure to read.
