The lesser known Arch(s)

The lesser known Arch(s)

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A look into the divine for a mere moment.

"

Those that seek for divine spirit safe,

Come half the way and feed the fuel,

Brought trinkets worthless to all but man,

A binding sight in his that is Chamuel.

Mercy shown to all that repent slow,

A gun to shilled  in chest's now strong,

They that fight leave blood alone,

Feel safe for now in hands Jeremiel.

Flowers burst in beauty both here and there,

A sight to be hole lost only with burial,

Crafted wood now splits to yield flesh,

Now look upon the eye of Jophiel.

A brothers love grows strong in jest,

Fly hearty on wings that perish upon,

A feast to gulp and the sister table,

Take heed in thought the family Sandalphon.

Compassion never spared in those that seek,

A redemption to fold away unreel,

Pride comes before a cleansing,

Dear son your name now Zadkiel.

Secret tents to hold one's magic,

A might to clash in titans hair veil,

Mystic forces lay heavy in dirt,

A fellow to guard in doors Raziel.

The embodiment of virtues laid down upon sword-wielding angels. I am led to ask what need has an angel of a sword; angels have no need of defence and swords are not needed for redemption. Ahh ... there is that devil fear again. We teach ourselves even to be leery of the angelic. An outstanding write, here, Thomas. Your pen is as they say .. mightier than the sword:)

Although your style is different your descriptions have shades of Heaney. Lovely description of the less well-known archangels.

Angels, the divine, and questions of religion versus spirituality. There are those who think they know, those who wonder and search. Well done.

A name that's placed in relation to the divine presence is indeed a significant new contact in the relations that we engender. It grows to share with us our nature ... as only Goodfaith and Goodwill will allow. Nice ...

Some of this brings to mind the Martyr death cult mentality present in Islamic type radicalism. Great poem Thomas
