April!

April!

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

The continuation of the Month series.

"

Eastermonad is upon us once more in teen,

Fever gathers close and a sure all beckons,

Dice have been set against high tides,

Members launch a thought one reckons.

Family of states hail all our dear poets,

Writing strewn in sand and on screen,

Lost souls race back to the ears low,

Sudden movements betray the unseen.

TS teaches she is the cruellest of all,

A man of greater knowledge we know not,

Round head spinning on tables red,

A shine of silver hits the end I now got.

Orwell states the clock striking thirteen,

May we see inside those heavenly names,

April shoots forth as blossomed daffodils,

Remember to breath deep playing games.

I am partial to April, obviously having been born in and named after the month. That being said, it can be quite a biatch.

It can be mischievous and fun with the celebration of April fool's day. (who doesn't love a great practical joke?) It can also be a charmingly beautiful month of fertility and growth. You can delight in the still cool air without the frost nipping at your nose or feel the warmth of the sun without the scorching heat...

As you mentioned it is also the month to celebrate writers... So not all bad... I love the rhythm of this piece makes the reader feel carefree as if frolicking amongst the daffodils but just enough of an edge to it to remind us that it isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

I've been checking your work since March 31st, waiting for your April poem. You make the month sound vivid, blossoming, not cruel at all.

Thank you Marie.
Auriga the charioteer ... guides the stars as they re-emerge as new stars from the constellation Orion. And I can't help but feel that he does a bit more in terms of guide ... here on earth ... in a place of the green paradise. The poem indicates a continuity of our course in life ... and that must bring many a cheer to those rediscovering the stars in themselves. Good one Thomas.

A amazing poem for the month of April. We had a long hard winter in Michigan. I will be glad for the coming of the warm days. Easter is late this year. Good to be able to celebrate the holiday with new life being born and warm day. Thank you my friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thank you Darling
Easter confused the crap out of me when I was a kid. I thought Jesus had a magic pet rabbit that laid chocolate eggs. I knew that didn't seem right so I never said anything about it around my crazy southern baptist relatives. They'd have performed an exorcism on me for such blasphemy. Christmas was easy. You got s**t. That's a no brainer but Easter, that was all fucked up. Great poem and it's good to see you back on the WC Thomas

HAHA, you always make me smile, thank you
interesting isn't it? the cruelest month is poetry month...does that mean we poets are cruel?

last line did you mean "breathe"

i like how April often fools us....blossoms and then killing frost...so we write about it...

even if it fools us sometime...i am glad we do have our month...

like this one.
