March

March

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A continuation of my month series.

"

A season for battles in times gone by,

Mars holding still and sounds the horn,

To war we go and kill all those lucky,

Take home the few to mill the corn.

Emily express our need for expectation,

A search never ending in light and mind,

Gardening sulks and wines in this spring,

Clever writers bully those of simple kind.

A month dedicated to bed's and pigs,

Very beings to rest and eat bacon,

Prayers last for times on times in time,

None hold back and we are forsaken.

Saint David holds true and never lies,

The third in all of us to savour hold,

March you darling budding space in year,

Now Mothers come forth to sooth and scold!

Its beautiful.... The victory of war for one and death for the other.

Loved the 2 stanza a lot...

"Emily express our need for expectation,
A search never ending in light and mind,
Gardening sulks and wines in this spring,
Clever writers bully those of simple kind."

March is upon us, and not what I expected--our good weather has turned off cold. But maybe after this month of bed and pigs is over, things will be better.

I like the contrasting polars throughout, just as spring battles with winter throughout the month of March and eventually is victorious!

A very credible piece of poety Thomas!

Nice places and thoughts you took me with. You taught me a lot about the month of March. I like the closing lines. Thank you for the outstanding poetry my friend.

"A month dedicated to beds and pigs" Great line. We were taught to march the first day of boot camp. The way the drill instructors carried on you'd have thought we were to retarded to walk.
