Taxation!

Taxation!

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

I've been studying for a taxation exam tomorrow - this is what comes to mind!

"

Work hard to garner wages and price,

Sweat builds in drains that spill with crumb,

Handing over cash to slice in even pieces,

The dreaded aftermath on taxed income.

I buy, you buy and we all save for those,

Scrimping we cut from the top sheer acid,

Never mention to those that need not know,

Dear master as you know the there is value added.

Divine times as your company come into force,

Bagger no more I tell you capital infiltration,

Your corner of the sky they say regardless of lifetime,

We all know they will get you that nasty corporation.

I thought shortest cuss word i knew was the well known four letter one but now there's T*X . I don't know half the terms here Thomas and I hope you did well in the exam (last year) but I know a good poem when I see one and this fits the bill precisely. Fabulous!

Yuk! I hate the thoughts...
This is a very old complaint. I do not think people would mind paying into a common funding of good for our countries. It is the corruption and waste bringing the populace to drudgery and dread.
Nobody like their hard earned dollars fed to swine...

Worthy thought.

Thank you Prince
No one wins or gets where they want with taxation but it's a strange necessary evil of sorts it seems. Very nice piece and very well thought out.

Now this reminds me on my studying days... I did took taxation, it was a very hard subject for me for I don't like numbers much or math on the other note.. :D but i did learned something about it, the debit and credit stuffs, wages and prices and many more about business... Still in what I believed, learning can be fully learned when you applied it to reality. Study well mr. Thomas, everything will come into place in time, and this subject will become useful. very nice piece.

Indeed, I agree, thank you.
What is it "they" say? You cannot avoid death and taxes. Almost to pretty of a write to be about something so dirty.

You are welcome:)
Here in America the conservatives cut taxes and raise the deficit, democrats raise taxes and raise the deficit each side blames the other for the massive deficit and anytime one side has a plan to deal with it the other side shoots it down. The last balanced budget we had with a surplus was under Bill Clinton. Then Bush and the Neocons came along with their wars on two fronts and well, war is bloody expensive so bush cut taxes because his little circle of "experts" thought Iraqi oil revenues would pay for the invasion they launched. Well unfortunately it didn't turn out that way in large part because the Neocons running the government under Bush silenced or fired anyone who questioned their grand plans which in retrospect must have been to bankrupt the United States. Both Democrats and Republicans have some whack job supporters with the Republicans getting the lions share of the lime light for crazy in congress and on the street with the Tea Party generally looking like a pack of gun toting, rhetoric screaming lunatics dressed up like Ben Franklin with a Para Military grade rifle slung over his shoulder. (I don't think America's founding fathers saw assault rifles coming when they put the right to bare arms in the US constitution.)
Taxation has always been a necessary evil for most governments since ancient times and whoever has to pay them is going to make the most noise about it. Great poem as always Thomas.

Very true Tate, thanks.
I love the concept of this... I've been working on budgeting lately, and taking a hard look at the idea of debt and living debt free. It always amazes me how all societies seem to go the same way at some point or another when it comes to taxing their people. I did find the format of this one slightly off for some reason...it was just a little difficult to read in terms of me getting tongue tied for some reason. Overall, though, I enjoyed the read.
