Collaboration of the Gods!A Poem by Thomas FitzgeraldThey came together in the night and created prose! x
Selene
Sweet Goddess of the night we beseech thee,
Shine upon us in resplendent moonlight
Splendour beams from your glorious façade
To pierce our eyes and heart in harmony
Ictinike fooled the rabbit from his clothes
God of war, he taught the People to kill
Marrying the Chief’s daughter, he laughed
‘til the rabbit tricked him and broke the
spider’s leg
Celebrated in victory
Vilified in slaughter
Lustful warrior deity
Aphrodite’s lover
Trunk of fire seeps metal to bind
A clever death never far from her grip
Weapons to score thousands and us one
Kali a dear friend and enemies poisoned tip.
