Our Becket.

Our Becket.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A tribute to the lovely "Assistant Becket" - an assistant to Anne Rice and a natural force all his own!

"

A towering hope of feelings splashed in time,

Holy men show the way for his soul to bathe,

In light and prayer to live in quiet contemplation,

A man to high in smarts to let down and fade.

Clever times and luck do pass among men often,

A woman of strength and power casts a delightful eye,

On Becket our most prized obsession and man,

Gleeful are we people of the page we no longer sigh.

Quite a cozy family of reviews here Thomas ... hope you're ready for a foreign one.

Great work. I've been circling around the issue of fertility and childbirth for some time now hoping for a glimpse into its natures. I take it she favors you on this. Quite wonderful ... don't lose the grip, boy. For this reviewer, Becket ... or any Becket will always be the man for all seasons.

Thank you my darling.
Wonderful dedication.. I've only read two of Rice's books and knew nothing about Beckett. This makes me want to know more. Lovely job, Thomas!

Thank you pet! x
I am not sure who Becket is, but I can tell that this is about a very driven person, with outstanding charisma. This character is very vibrant and full of life - "A towering hope of feelings splashed in time" - his aura resembles a tower of hope that plentifully splashes throughout time, infecting others around. He is a holy and upright man that excludes time to his faith and soul. Indeed, "Clever times and luck do pass among men often;" however, very few of them realize it; for me, it was the strongest line in the poem. There seems to be a special woman in his life that he wishes to please.

This poem is somewhat abstract, yet coherent at the same time. As I've said before, your work has to be read more than once, in order to unwrap the whimsical message inside, and it is very much worth it. I think that this comes to you naturally, and that is a precious gift. You and Sami might be the best poets I've seen on the site by far. Write on man! Thanks for sharing.
