A stare that keeps the mind free from pain."
A truly fantastical poem with mind blowing stanzas that echoes your magical pen. All good to quote and share...I think this is one of your best but I could be wrong...:)
"Awakened by smartness in others sometimes,
A ploy backed up with years of practise and scold,
A smile so right and pure no-one knows truth,
A trick played over in time now plainly old"
Hard to see yourself. Hard person on us is the one looking back at us. I like your thoughts in the poem. A honest person accept mistakes for he know he will make many also. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.

Lord almighty, where do I start? When I read your work I have to do it more than once, because it's so rich and soulful. Forming paradoxes and the skilled use of irony are concepts that only a seasoned poets can craft. I love paradoxes, and the concept of irony; reading such works reminds me of authors like Shakespeare, Jonathan Swift, Edgar Allen Poe. I think you carried this very well. As I said, I have to read it more than once to absorb the meaning; lines like, "Pale grey eyes give those comfort and joy, A stare that keeps the mind free from pain," stun me, and send chills down my spine. If I peered a little closer, I would say that this is either you, or someone that you have dealt with and made you feel uneasy, but over time you have come to see the reality and the hidden truth. Brilliant work. Keep mesmerizing us. We always thirst for more.
I wish this could be accompanied with music... I loved the way you have woven the imagery together... Very honest write and I was able to connect what you were saying... Very relatable...
OH DAHLING G THAT IS Soooooooooooooo Sooooooooooooooooo GAY
You are a bloody good poet Thomas I doff my hat to your prowess with themes and your technical expertise in wrapping them in words
I suffer hypervigilance too Thomas - perhaps it the Aspie facets of my personality but I can relate to this piece so closely.
Its a fantastic read for me
Thank you
