A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A tiny insight into war and her slain!

"

The horrid year we bound young and willing for death,

The issue was to relieve those there now haggard,

Dust flew from an earth now stained with bloods,

A captain made sure to leave all men so badgered.

Snipers surrounded those foolish enough to be seen,

Terror filled those natives as anger rushed dissolve,

Fake names passed freely onto wives of no face,

We must turn and keep brief our most vigilant resolve.

Now tired with no men at our sides but in oblivion,

Trumpets sound the new wave comes forth in plight,

Heavy eyes stare home to a country scorned in memory,

No reason again for the endless and never fair fight.

There is a price to pay for everything and wars cost a heavy price on lives and societies. Peace and justice should be our ultimate goals for it leaves a more lasting effect than bloodshed which creates more hatred and cycles of revenge.
You have penned a great piece on this subject...:)

An honorable write. War is such a vicious thing.

As a veteran I consider service an honor. Yet, the horrors of war make no sense. Arguing, bickering, economics, and rivalries between country leaders, started with words or other actions, start a war - and it is only through complete overwhelming victory on the field to cripple the enemy in spirit, or through talk again among the powers that be, does war end... and in the middle are brave men and women that lose their lives in honor of their country, but more importantly for those they hold dear - that they may have a brighter future.

Interesting piece, I like reading stuff like this. It's always good to spread awareness through art, and u did a fine job of doin so here. Oh and I think the word "Bloods" in this should be "Blood". Keep it up
