There is a line... it lies somewhere between dishonest syrupy fawning and utterly hateful knifing. we all pretty much know where it is, but some always prefer one from the other.
Honestly, your words here are spot on in that I understood and relate. In my reviews I do my best to be constructive, for to be destructive is to take from the world without giving, to create darkness, and leave a mark that is ugly and smells funny.
To write is to sacrifice a part of ourselves and it takes any writer courage to withstand a negative review, I am not unsure as to why people need to bring any writer down when we share a common theme and should lift each other instead of bringing down, wisely said :)

This is so true in so many cases. I find that some people just seems to enjoy finding the fault in others work, while other people seems to just like to leave one line "this is wonderful" comments. Personally, I try to find the good and bad in each piece I read, or at least just give my interpretation of what the piece said to me so that the writer can figure out if the reader is interpreting things in the right way.
As writers, artists, creators, we do put ourselves in the position of being criticized on a regular basis, but that is the nature of the game, i suppose. This was well penned. Nice verse and flow.
I have had my fair share of these.... Honestly, i would rather have just one good review than a dozen half-assed one-liner reviews. But even then, i don't really care much for getting a lot of reviews or views. Writers should write for their own personal reasons, not for others. People should respect that and either give an honest review of some criticism or praise or write nothing at all. People should also know the difference between criticism and insults. Criticism is meant to help the artist, not put holes into their soul. But... What else can you expect from most people? As Sartre once said- "People are hell".
An excellent piece, i felt both a rant and a plea within it. I always enjoy a poem with a rhyme pattern, that which you accomplished very well. Much appreciate you posting it.
Can anyone say "smack" that's what this piece did to me. It smacked me and grabbed me right from the get go then shook me around like I was a rag doll. It seethes of a justifiable anger and in that is it's beauty. Only when critique per say I think and sorry if my english isn't great. I was thinking maybe some quotations around verses in the lines.
I had to read it twice after I got to the end to get from it that the statements weren't talking about me, but instead about nasty statements people use.
I may be misinterpreting this though, happens to me a lot.
I'm diggin' this piece though, completely.
By the way, love this line and the way it made me think of imagery I hadn't place together before in a philosophical sense.
"Hurt me today yet never leave a lasting remark,"
Awesome.

Wow! I love this! I really wish I could add some constructive criticism on this but I don't have any suggestions. It is well written and I love the anger I feel from it. Great job!
To all who know by now - I love you.
For those that don't, I review a lot of work on here, and I expect the same in return, friend me but make sure to have conviction! I'm a horror writer mostly bu.. more..
