wordsA Poem by Kirstin
i wish words would win over an unwilling heart
maybe they do, and mine are not worthy. on paper, perhaps i persuade you toward affection but when my mouth forms syllables, i clutter the air with nervous cacophony. i cannot express my feelings in such short seconds. on paper, i say that my heart rockets round my ribcage when you smile. in person, i smile and look away with a blush that writes its own poetry my pen prefers bravery my mouth prefers safety
