uphill

i have been fighting this uphill battle

with you by my side 

i told you all my secrets and strategies

you kept me strong so i never had to hide

although i was always edgy

some how you kept me stable 

which really isnt easy 

you were always honest and laid your cards on the table

but that night felt a little queasy

i guess true what they say

always trust your gut

i will always regret that day

now your gone and i took a major cut

i cant think with you not here

giving me advise and whispering in my ear

i need you back so ill still fight

but its made me sore

that doesnt matter because ill will keep fighting until your at my side once more
