When the last teardrop falls

When the last teardrop falls

A Poem by Drew

When the Last Teardrop Falls

Lasting love turns to dust

Swept away by the winds of change.

Forgotten passion withering away

With each beat of a broken heart.

I turn to face the horizon’s setting sun.

Where will I stand tomorrow

When the last teardrop falls.

Will I stand alone

Or wake in the embrace of loving arms.

Will tomorrow lift my face

With gentle hands

And look at me with loving eyes.

Will she breath new life into me

And lift my sorrow with soft lips.

Slowly I step into an unknown

A darkness of night that falls apon me.

What forth will tomorrow bring

Where will I stad

When the last teardrop falls.

I like the way you expressed the emotion in this piece. The "where will I stand" - the yearning for an answer was done well via repetition. Nicely scribed poet.

I especially like how it began. This said so much ==>
"Lasting love turns to dust
Swept away by the winds of change.
Forgotten passion withering away
With each beat of a broken heart."

A question not many will bring themselves to answer..
I lay awake late at night because of that question . . or rather, a similar one..

I truly did enjoy this piece, it made me smile inside - that sort of,
"tomorrow's never guaranteed, but there's always hope", smile.

One thing that threw me off was in the last stanza, second sentence,
it's just a minor typo.

"stad" - stand.

Personally I think they should have a spell check on this thing.
Some of us either type too fast to realize a typo -
or just something as little as rereading your write so many times that it looks great to you.

Thanks for sharing,
I loved this, truly.
