I miss you so

I miss you so

A Poem by Drew

I miss you so

Thoughts of you are all through my mind

Memories etched in the pages of my heart.

I am but a gentle soul

Weeping in your absence

I miss you so.

Eyes closed I touch skin as soft as a velvet rose pedal

Taste a kiss as soft as a whisper.

Hallowed breath against my skin

A gaze into your loving eyes

Passions embrace eludes me

I miss you so.

Reflections captured within a fallen tear

Imprints left upon a pillow untouched

Spaces become vacant

Sounds unheard

Your scent no more

All but a sweet memory

I miss you so.

Nicely written very heart felt...

Posted 16 Years Ago

A heartfelt poem about loss. What caused the loss isn't mentioned, which helps in making it more universal. The imagery is mournfully angelic, brings to mind thoughts of roses, overgrown gardens, angel wings and the like. The only thing I'd change is I would end the first stanza with "I miss you so." as that helps with the overall meter, and the line "velvet rose pedal", those are two different symbols, so I'd take one out. Personally, I'd keep rose pedal; it conjured up a more powerful image for me. Then again, this poem's personal and you may have had your own special meaning behind it. Either way, the feeling in the poem is deep and real. Nice job. Oh, and thanks for the review on The Valley of the Kings. Much appreciated.
