Inside Looking Out

Inside Looking Out

A Poem by Drew

Inside Looking Out

Standing inside looking out

Watching an autumn wind blow by.

Comforted inside, hidden from a cold world out…

Pondering life.

Passing memories beget questions.

What might I have done different

What could I have changed now or then

                                  Would I?

Should I?

What waits ahead in an unseen future?

Do I want to know?

What bearing will today have on tomorrow?

I am unsure.

Therefore here and now I have all I need…

I shall want no more.

While here I stand watching a mans life blow by

Like the fall leaves carried away on an autumn wind.

While here I stand…

Inside looking out.

Comforted inside, hidden from a cold world out

Very thought provoking and true.

Feeling safe is comfort. Standing alone to reflect on life, the present and past, a soul searching quest. Nice flow throughout the poem. Enjoyed.
