Marionette

Marionette

A Poem by Kirasoul

THROWN BACK, A SHARP LEERING YANK CONTROLLED

HIS BATTERED WOODEN FORM STARTS TO DANCE

      BROKEN FROM COUNTLESS FALLS BEFORE

AT THE CENTER OF STAGE, UPON PODIUM BENEATH SPOTLIGHT

      BREATHLESS AND BEATEN

SPINNING, SPINNING, SPINNING, HEAD DANGLING OFF THE NECK

HIS TOETIPS CHIPPED, HIS ANKLE JOINT GRINDS

STEEL STRINGS ANTICIPATED ATTACHED TO THE PIANO

BACKSTAGE AS THE SONG PLAYS, FORCEFULLY

      WITHOUT

      PACE

      (EXPOSITION! RISING ACTION-CLIMAX? FALLING ACTION/CATASTROPHE)

BLACKOUT

LIGHTS BLARE, THE AUDIENCE CHEERS AND CLAPS

BUT THE PUPPET HIMSELF IS DEAD

Author's Note

Kirasoul
So sorry for the overuse of capital letters! They felt right with my emotion when writing this piece, and so I will let them be.
Please comment! Compliments and criticism are the best gifts a writer can receive :)
