a smoker's love letterA Poem by kinza adilPlagiarism is stealing, so please don't steal my words. Reviews and thoughts always welcome.
Cigarette,
You are the calm after the storm The quiet after a rock song The halting of thought and emotion Negativity blown off in smoke. When I smell you, Hold you, Set fire to you, When I wrap my lips around you, When it's just me, with you, Against the world - The world that so despises you. You're unhealthy for me You smell bad You make me look bad And make everyone else Feel bad And I'm way too young to be hooked on you. Just like Romeo was unhealthy for Juliet And the Capulets couldn't stand a whiff of the Montagues And how Juliet was only thirteen, Way too young to be hooked on to Romeo. Well, they did end badly, Among scattered ashes of hope, Yet keeping their...co-dependancy forever anew, And so maybe when you burn out someday Dear Cigarette, I might have to burn out with you.
