Only by YouA Poem by King JamesHope you will one day read this... where ever you are!Only by You Dedicated to my dear friend, teacher and mentor “Teresa A. Collier”
It must be hard to do what you do, Back and forth having to keep going through. Teenagers who are lazy or have misguided priorities, You help deliver them from their bad habits and promote true maturity. You taught me a lot with just a few words, I could fare up in rage and you’d listen to me burn. You took time out of your day when I would intrude unannounced, And invade your classroom trying my best not to shout. And you’d listen to my problems as if you had none of your own, You made time for my immaturity and made sure I’d try acting grown. Even when I graduated I still wanted to return, To your classroom looking forward to a lesson on life I could learn. But I realize I need to leave the nest, You did your best to teach me not to be stressed by stress. Motivation: One word that circulated our conversations. Invigoration: One word through you gave me consolation. Now as I look at my life, yes some things have gone wrong, You took my lack of self-esteem and helped me direct and chase my dreams. Fighting fire with fire till you convinced me it only produces a hellacious scene. Like the mentor you were you were there; you did things you didn't have to, All these things unfeasible to others, done only by you! Written By: James Okeze On: © 2006
