Could you, could we

Could you, could we

A Poem by Deos Fortioribus Adesse

Could you teach me how to dance,
Like the wind teaches the leaves to?
My left foot following your right foot,
Like night follows day.
Could you teach me how to shine like you do,
Like the sun teaches the moon to?
You make my mornings, maybe I could do the same for your nights.
Could we no longer be strangers to one another,
Like the rain connects the earth and sky?
Our parallel lives meeting at infinity.
Could we be inseparable,
Like the sea and the shore?
Always coming back to each other no matter what.
I think we could,
If we tried.
