Expanding ThoreauA Story by kingfugaziWhile reading Civil Disobidience, one of the most influential writings in the world, I came across this and felt it was an appropriate sentiment to have today. So, I attempted to contemporized this.
H.D. Thoreau, Civil Disobedience, 1849, brackets added.
"How does it become a man to behave towards this American government today? I answer, that he cannot without disgrace be associated with it. I cannot for an instant recognize that political organization as my government which is the slave's [or assassin's] government also." © 2012 kingfugaziAuthor's Note
