A grey tuxedo, A black gown, Graduation night.
Fruit punches, Slow dancing, Deep emotions.
The first kiss, A second, Stained bedsheets.
Innocence lost, Love blooms, Cute couple.

A month, Two months, Nine.
Pretty boy, Bashful girl, Baby.
Complications, Tragedy, Death.
Pretty boy, Father, Dropout.
The infant, Baby girl, Motherless.

The father, The infant, Children.
A world, Cold, Unforgiving.
Love, Pain, Resilience.
Pretty boy, Adulthood, Forcefully.

A year, Two years, Forty five.
The Father, Man, Grandfather.
Granddaughter, Sixteen, Bashful girl.

Author's Note

I haven't written a poem in years, so I gave myself an assignment to try n tell a compelling story using just words and phrases.
