GOD SHINES OUTA Poem by Bill Grimke-DraytonThe agnostic's hopeless search for meaning in an apparently meaningless universe. The temptation to reject belief in the divine is very great.God shines out in light inaccessible, testing blind faith with incomprehension, and reason laughs at the foolish pursuit. I yearn for order and purpose, but know such futility is real, back off with hands empty from despair. The divine face, if it be so, hides behind the facade of a perpetual conundrum, wrapped up but may never be opened. © 2016 Bill Grimke-Drayton |
