UNREASONABLE DISTANCE

UNREASONABLE DISTANCE

A Poem by Bill Grimke-Drayton
"

For lovers living apart separated by thousands of miles is agony, especially they do not know when they will see each other again.

"

In the garden of hope,

through strained

sequence of seasons,

each day yearning

for end

to such separation,

I wait for you,

my darling love,

ours a relational link,

stretched by

unreasonable distance,

longing to see

without the cold

mirror-image,

unable to fulfil

longing

of the other,

asking why,

how long.
