CORE VULNERABILITYA Poem by Bill Grimke-DraytonI met a man, who described himself as bisexual. Here are words he connected to himself. Divorced. Had counselling. In prison. Demons. Screaming inside.Hell can exist in the body, distorts living tissue, to ooze out in agonies, constant reminder of harm, inflicted by vicious word-thrusts daggered to the heart’s core vulnerability, lays waste the frail life force at an unrepentant whim. How can this be justified, when hesitant love is cast aside from the trial? Why don’t you shout defiance at the biting wind, full on the contorted face, that conceals the image of God? Perhaps this is what is meant by crucifixion. © 2015 Bill Grimke-DraytonReviews
