ENTRAPMENT

ENTRAPMENT

A Poem by Bill Grimke-Drayton
"

This is a description of infatuation, where there is no happy ending.

"

I remember how it was, that day of false light,

unprepared for the insidious assault,

caught in the snare of lust,

I fell headlong,

as a quasi-innocent, and yet beguiled

by deceptively boyish looks,

and a winsome smile,

I thought this was purest love,

but I became selfish

with my blatant desire for you,

not wanting to share

or leave your side,

even after you grew tired of me,

and moved on to yet another.
