AloneA Poem by Kimberly Navarrosad poetry
I go to church alone.
I travel alone. I eat alone. I sleep alone. Companionship How necessary is it? Men try to pursue me. But i take pride in rejecting them. What do they have to offer me That I can't do by myself? Or that I can't do without? Nothing. I can spare myself the problems, the drama, The heartaches and deception. But one thing I lack is the intimate connection The mutual affection And mutual emotional dependency. It's a reality That companionship is a necessity. Man wasn't made to be alone. But I... Walk alone. Go to church alone. Travel alone. Eat alone. Sleep alone. Companionship versus troubles. Does the end justify the means? Is it okay to be accompanied And feel the stress unseen? To be stressed Depressed Frustrated and suppressed. Just to be caressed By the man that you confess To be your husband until death? I rather spare me the stress And continue... To walk alone. Go to church alone. Travel alone. Eat alone. Sleep alone. Cuz I was born alone And alone I will die Just me, myself and I.
