Oils and Incense

Oils and Incense

A Poem by Kimberly Navarro
"

a poem about him

"
Anointed are the temples of his mahogany skin
With Egyptian musk, myrrh and a light touch of mint.
Traditions passed down from Islam and his kin
Are the aromas from oils, candles and incense.
He burns oils to romance the air that I’m in
With an ambience fragrant of frankincense
And the kush on his lips
Time disappears with the smoke’s evanescence.
The trace of his scent makes me reminisce.
Nostalgic I dwell among his presence.
In an aura of peace and love in essence
How deeply I miss…his oils and incense.

Wow! This is a lovely poem. I actually started some incense just now and this poem made me feel heady. It is romance and history and sexy. This is a good one.
Keep'em coming.

A strong triger of memory ... scent.
A stunning sonnet filled with fragrance of deeply missed presence.
