Oils and IncenseA Poem by Kimberly Navarroa poem about himAnointed are the temples of his mahogany skin With Egyptian musk, myrrh and a light touch of mint. Traditions passed down from Islam and his kin Are the aromas from oils, candles and incense. He burns oils to romance the air that I’m in With an ambience fragrant of frankincense And the kush on his lips Time disappears with the smoke’s evanescence. The trace of his scent makes me reminisce. Nostalgic I dwell among his presence. In an aura of peace and love in essence How deeply I miss…his oils and incense.
