As a little kid, I always

Dreamed of finding out

How the world worked.

I always wondered

Why

Certain people acted a

Certain way

How

A mother could seemingly love her child

And then just

Abandon that child

When

I was going to finally find out

What love really meant

And if I was going to get through the day

Instead of crumbling

And if everyone

Found out my shame

The shame that I have no mother

A mother to care

I only have

My hopless dreaming.
