The Beating

The Beating

A Poem by Kimberly Pflug
"

i think you can see for yourself..

"

The panic in her eyes is radiant.

The tears rolling down her cheeks are mystifying

The bruises on her face are brilliant.
The blood dripping off her chin is remarkable.

Do you feel better now?

Now that you've beat her to the ground?

Let's get one thing straight,

She's not the joker and your not the king.

This is a very powerful poem and it holds a lot of impact. I can tell you feel very close or very strongly about what inspired this, whether they be personal experiences or not, it shows for the world to see and shows everyone that you're a strong woman already. good job and keep it up

It's short but holds a power that is stark in contrast to the darkness it beholds, shining a light on the disgrace of the abuser your accusations hit hard and behold the injustice and hurt of the broken girl before you, as anger boils a cacophony of sound bursts through the damn and over the walls the tears fall and crumpled the despair itches along the skin of knowing. Love it.

That shared many aspects of emotion. I loved the last line--it was brilliant. Overall, nicely written.
