That Girl

That Girl

A Poem by Kim Jimenez
"

If it’s hard to overcome life’s test, Fight after having time for rest

"

Too scared to live,

Even though too much love received;

Low in self-care,

Too conscious of their stare;

Too big to fit in the city,

Too big to lessen self-pity;

Will she ever be enough,

If loving herself was tough?

That clueless stout girl,

Never knew she’s a hidden pearl;

She could love in different ways,

A love heavier than she weighs;

Sadly they said she’s too emotional,

To even think rational;

She can’t even open up,

Silently cut herself up;

Hides in shame at the corner,

Waiting ‘til she matter;

Waiting and waiting,

Then suddenly stops crying;

Find her pen and paper,

Writes to feel better;

Chose to fight for herself,

Leaving this empty shelf;

This poetry will heal,

All emotions that I seal;

In this every verses,

I’ll pick up my broken pieces;

To achieve self-care,

In yourself also be fair;

If it’s hard to overcome life’s test,

Fight after having time for rest;

It’s okay not to be okay,

Because you’ll be someday;

And when that day comes,

You’ll see how stronger your heart becomes.
