My Angel

My Angel

A Poem by Kim Jimenez
"

"Rest well my child, There you could run wild"

"

Hush my little one,

Don’t fret my son;

As your angel comes here,

No more wasted tear;

I’ll hold your hand tight,

And sing you goodnight;

Up there no more needle pricks,

Just toys and playful tricks;

You’ve been a good boy,

You’re our source of joy;

Maybe that’s why He took you,

Because they need you too;

Mom will stay strong,

So you could go along;

Rest well my child,

There you could run wild;

Goodbye my little one,

You’re free now my love;

There’s nothing to fear,

For you’ll always be here;

Once in a while I’ll think of you,

Maybe shed a tear too;

But promise mom will be okay,

For you’re an angel came my way.

I feel great sadness for your loss but it's no comparison to the endless grief you battle. Your love is preciously conveyed with your smart choice of words and creative flow of rhyme. Amazing heartfelt poem...thanks for sharing!

This is a heartbreaking poem, made even more raw with your eloquent writing. Writing is such a gift, being able to convey love and loss in such beautiful words. I can't comprehend the grief of losing a child, but this poem puts me in a place of empathy. An extraordinary poem.

I can add nothing to this. There is no upside to grief.
