Our Hymn

Clouded minds,
With beating hearts;
Happiness in maze,
But felt peace in our gaze;

We’re never whole,
To fill each other’s hole;
But we’re the only right,
To our lives full of fright;


The love felt in guilt,
After holding a hilt;
Hearts consistently at war,
Presence of never fading scar;


Romance was never our forte,
Life’s too complicated for Cliché;
Normal lovers have God in their center,
While Death is our answer;


Our love was enough,
But life’s too rough;
In our arms we’ll forever belong,
But death is the hymn of our song.

A wonderful poem. Had the feel of the ancient writers in the words. To master the emotion of love, take a lifetime. We shall fall and rise-up often. The words in the poem, honest and direct. I liked the flow of thoughts leading to the strong ending. Thank you Kim for sharing the amazing poetry.
