Invisible Pain

Invisible Pain

A Poem by kimberli Leacock
"

I was about to go to bed and as my head hit the pillow these words kept going around my mind so i had to get it out and share

"
I am that girl;
the one that everyone loves to judge.
You look at me but dont see me.
Whisper those words and deceive me,
say you'll never leave me and then poof....
you disappear.
The truth rears its ugly head,
since i am that girl who you turnt to and said...
you care.
For me, you were never there.
I am that girl who never gets the joke,
the last to know the punchline was really the stab in the back that i never expected.
Never accepted.
My love; always rejected.
Left with the scar of regret,
Invisible to those who skim past the soul and focus on the cover.
Not interested in uncovering the me that desperately yearns for the attention deserved.
Yes i am that girl.
Thee girl.
A girl.
Looked at but never seen.
