Perfection

Perfection

A Poem by Kilee P.

Perfection

I know I make mistakes
Down wrong paths I may stray
It's just my nature
And all the silly games I play

I'm not asking for perfection
Beneath the suns golden ray
Or the unreachable impossible
In the tree branches faint sway

For I can say it will be alright
Tell you it will be okay
But I can't convince you
To believe these words I say

We fight this time
No way to replay
When we're running
With these bones turned to macrame

When in the moment
We all fall prey
To the obscure ending
In this handwritten screenplay

I can say it will be alright
Tell you it will be okay
But I can't convince you
To believe these words I say

And when you feel
Like nothing but a castaway
Your ending torn
Left in disarray

I'll be sorry I can't help you
Find the strength to breakaway
When all you're left with
Is the nerve to run away

I want to say it will be alright
Tell you it will be okay
But how can I convince you
To believe these words I wish to say
