I had to tell them

I had to tell them

A Poem by kikieatszombies

The ground is cold under my bare feet

The only clothes I have are the clothes on my back

and the few items that i could clutch with my tiny hands.

The wind rips through my hair and travels down my spine.

I shiver as it sings a song of the lost souls and quietly

         disappears into the night sky.

I was looking for ways to tell them,

but with you parents being right hand catholics,

its hard to tell them that you are atheist,

that you don't believe in god.

The only thing I wanted was to be myself

to feel comfortable in my own home.

              Now I have no home.

Wow alot of emotions here. Very interesting poem. And i know how it is having telling your parents things you fear they will disown you. Good write, sad poem, but very powerful

its so sad that parents would do this to their flesh and blood... shame on them. not you.. you should never be ashamed of who and what you are... we are each our own. i loved this poem though
