The Girl on Fire

The Girl on Fire

A Poem by kij143
"

Inspired by The Hunger Games trilogy, dont worry no spoilers. I focused on the theme, as opposed to the story line.

"

Katniss, The girl on fire;

The girl who's a victor, the girl who's a liar.

Her flame Resilliant, her flame bright,

Talked of a rebellion, set a spark to fight.

A spark, which when properly kindled set ablaze,

Too late to compromise; the smoke sets a haze.

No one can see their mistakes within the black smoke,

On the responsability of death and disaster you choke.

Her fire is spreading, oppressive her heat.

Who is the enemy, what is there to defeat?

Killing and slaughter, flesh being burned

Nothing has changed, yet the tables have turned.

And turn they shall, with positions of power changing, with nothing to gain

Whats their to control? For but ashes remain.

The cycle will continue, as the tables will turn.

Hungry for power, People never will learn.

Untill it's too late, and for change they will yearn,

But everything will be on fire, everything will burn.

The flames rising higher and higher, it all began with

Katniss, the girl who was on fire.

Everything started with a flickering innocent spark,

Untill it died out,  Now we're dead in the dark.

A very good poem. I like the story and movement of words. Katniss was a strong character. A very good ending to the poem. A excellent poem.
