walking along, one fine summer day
I tred upon a path, which led another way. lost and unsure, I find ,myself weary. All alone in a wood, rather quite scary. Low and behold, a lonesome patch i find. I walk on through it, to leave it behind. The pain is but breif, on my leg, there's a scratch I turn and notice a rose, all alone in the patch. What a Beauty! thinks I, as i kneel towards it to gaze. Its colors so vibrant, bloody petals ablaze. I reach to touch the flowers petals, so sweet. But upon touching the rose, a thorn and I meet. Blood trickles as i stare down in disgust. The beauty overcame me, heedless was my lust. Perched upon the stem, I had forgotten the thorn. I turn around and walk away, somewhat forlon. A roses beauty; It's best just to walk away, for every rose has it's thorn, needless to say. A rose is bueatiful, what with its thorns and cold touch compared to lillies or daisies, it isn't quite much. Beauty is nothing, says a wise man, for only one would know. When compared to happiness, or love, other things that don't show. So teek heed, Don't let beauty ever have you torn. When you induldge in one, and too late find the thorn. so I walked away, and learned a lesson that day. As i found a fimiliar path, one which led the right way. © 2010 kij143 |
