Dante's Daughter

Dante's Daughter

A Poem by Kieran James McGovern
"

of a friend who died from drug addiction... addiction is a disease and not an immoral choice ... Sagtikos is a road on Long Island (SAG-ti-cose)

"
she’ll raise a toast to thoughts morose
her eyes were like kaleidoscopes
though lachrymose
five thousand miles an hour
story’s told while tearing down the Sagtikos
her mind entwined just like her hair
though comatose
in cobwebs of “love’s” gentle snare
