Recognition Isn't the Mission

Recognition Isn't the Mission

A Poem by Kieran James McGovern
"

In the civil rights field, you won't get rich like a rockstar or CEO... nor as celebrated as a cop, soldier or firefigher even though it costs far less tax $$!)

"

I could say that one day

When the tables have turned

I and others like me will reap the harvest we’ve earned

And although I know that day may never arrive

Struggle and strive but still you must realize

Recognition isn’t the mission

We’re doing this to change the system
