Too Young

Too Young

A Poem by Kieran James McGovern
"

Maybe people can add to this.. too many unfinished visions

"

I’m too young to speak of wastelands

And how they come to be

Or to mourn the misfortunes of yesteryear

And recount my memories

Too brand new to have opinions

Yet premature for apathy

Not looking forward to getting older

But at times I’d rather be

So self-assured, right or wrong

Way too wide-eyed to be critical

Brush my heart off my sleeve

But I’m too young to be so cynical

I’ll try to be more naive

I’m not fooling anyone

I’m too young, I’m too young
