No Place Like Home

No Place Like Home

A Poem by Kieran James McGovern

Frozen streets

Passers-by

Coffee cups

Bloodshot eyes

Stop and sigh

There’s no place like home

Today I want

Absence of grief

To feel assured

To find some peace

It's so brief

Never feel at home

'Cause you will be silence

I won't tell anyone

Besides, I have no one to tell

There is no home

Just hell

Shadows of

Grief abound

Once were lost

And now they’re found

I get down

But there’s no place like home
