Untitled (save my appreciation)

Untitled (save my appreciation)

A Poem by Kieran James McGovern

You'd never miss the sunlight more than on a rainy day

Such emtiness perceptible, something's gone away

Sometimes misery loves company, but only for so long

If one never knew beauty, nothing would appear wrong

Imagine if the harrowing clouds above

Forever hovered

And we'd miss the sun like a lost

Family member or lover

First plants would die

And in time you and I

Value redefined before one's eyes

In the eerie silence of impending disaster

The catatonic calm

Delivers misery faster

A coward dies a thousand times

But those void of regrets are simply blind...

And the rain burns on contact

And it's acid in the wounds

And it stops for awhile

But soon again resumes

For how long?

I won't save my appreciation for a nicer day

i love this, it's written really simply, not overly flowery and gushing which annoys me :p the rhymes aren't really noticeable as they sort of meld into the meaning of the poem and the words don't appear to have been chosen simply because they DO rhyme. It's really nice :-)
