A Poem by Kieran James McGovern

10/05

Sometimes at night, as I’m falling asleep

I can feel a fuzzy beckoning from the realm of dreams

And with a smile on my face, I embrace the greatest part of the day

When the misery of consciousness is taken away

From world of dreams unfurled, where everyday breaks even

To a place where no patience for gratification is needed

Keepin’ the fire alive all night by breathin’

And it doesn’t really matter if you’ve got no bed to sleep in

Placidity deepens

Erasing all the pain life is seeped in
