divine wish

If I could make a wish.......

If I could wish for anything

And have that wish come true

Then I’d wish for nothing else

Than have your dreams come true

 

I’d wish for your happiness

For it is also mine

I only wish for your success

Just that would be divine

 

What I want is very simple

I want for you to smile

Just seeing your happy expression

Would make my life worthwhile

 

Having you laugh your carefree laugh

Would be enough for me

Watching you enjoy yourself

Is just my cup of tea

 

So please do not ever cry

Do not shed a tear

To never let your heart be broken

That is why I am here

This is a very sweet and selfless poem. Not enough people are selfless in the world today, Its nice that your thinking of someone else :) I like the consistent rhyme scheme and the first stanza does draw the person in. I think i agree with Lauren about perhaps using "carefree" instead of "careless". But other than that it is a well developed poem. Great write!

This was a lovely piece.

I don't think I like the word "careless" in this line. Perhaps "carefree" instead?
