Chapter 1: The 10th Million New Beginning

Chapter 1: The 10th Million New Beginning

A Chapter by ZEE.

Here I go again, another new start. Starting over, making new friends, and getting adjusted once again. But this was going to be the last time. The last time I let my mother move before I ended my senior year. You probably have no idea what I'm talking about, so let me break it down for you. My mom and I have been moving around for as long as I can remember. She either gets promoted or transferred or god knows what, and what do we do? Pick up and leave, and I never hear of my hometown or the people in it for too long after. I'm so used to it, that I know exactly what things go in which box, and where each box is. Pretty pathetic, huh? Everytime we move, it's the same routine. The first day sucks, people are rude, and I come home feeling like a fish out of water.Hopefully this time would be different. Yeah right, who am I kidding, I say that every single time. Tomorrow's the first day of school and I already know what it will be like. I'll walk in, people stare, no one talks to me, and I end up eating lunch by myself. I mean I don't get it. I'm loud, energetic, funny, outgoing. But now you know about my story. Oh, and I'm Jordyn Cassidy, but most people call me either Jay or JC. Whatever floats your boat.

"GET UP!" I heard my mother struggling to get me out of bed.
"WHAT?!" I shouted as I rolled out of bed. I hated being awaken this way, with all the commotion and what not. Might as well grab a steel pan and bang on it, Mom. Jeez. "There's other ways to wake up a person," I said putting on a half smile. My mom through my blanket back onto my bed and laughed.
"You don't want to be late for your first day of school," she said. My half smile turned into a blank stare and then a small frown with a sigh. "I know, you hate doing this, but this is your last year of highschool, you have a couple of months left and then you'll be out for college, and won't have to worry about moving, alright?" she said, folding here, patting there. She had a point, just a few more months and no more worries about moving.

"Alright, alright, I'll stay positive," I replied, moving around boxes to get to my closet. Mom smiled and walked out of the room. Now the challenge was to figure out what to wear. I stood in front of my closest for what seemed like ever, but I put together
something decent.

I pulled on the tee, dark skinny jeans, and some gray boots. I glanced at the clock, I had to hurry up. I ran my straightener through my hair, threw on some earrings, ran down the steps and was in my car in no time. This was going to be a long day, I already had that feeling, from the 5 other high schools I had to go to. Here goes nothing.

I turned the door knob and entered the classroom, schedule in hand. I peeped my head in, and strolled my way in. I was prepared for all the eyes to be on me, and I was right. Each student turned their head and stared blankly as I talked to the teacher about my schedule. She looked it over and smiled, "I'm Mrs. Edwards," she said, and then addressed the class. "Class, looks like we have a new student," she trailed on. I was waiting for my name to be said, but instead I got a "ummm, her name is...". I was looking around and oh what the hell, just decided to introduce myself this time.
"My name's Jordyn, but I go by Jay or JC," I blurted out. I smiled a weak smile and tried not to turn red. I dreaded this part of the first day. The class continued to stare at me like I was some circus freak. The teacher smiled.
"Class, please welcome Jordyn," she said enthusiastically. "We're glad to have you here! Please tell us about yourself," she added. Something else I'm used to. Teachers asking me to tell the class something else about myself.
"Well," I started. "I've moved a bajillion times, so this isn't anything new. I moved from New York. I like making beats, writing lyrics, dancing, motocross, and basketball," I finished. Some girls started to giggle and a bunch of kids looked around at each other. Nothing new for me.
"Wow, that's very unique!" the teacher exclaimed. She looked around for a place to sit me, and pointed to the back, and that's exactly where I walked to. I moved through rows, plopped my bag onto my desk, and slid into my desk. I didn't notice I was sitting next to someone until I heard a "heeey." I turned my head to see a tall guy, with dark hair and green eyes, leaning back in his chair. I looked down, and immediately back up. He was cute. He laughed and looked at some of the other girls across from him, as they stared at me. Yeah, I had a feeling. He was cute, but that didn't mean he'd be the nicest thing on earth.
"Hi," I said back bluntly. I didn't want to give my attention to any of these kids, just wanted this day to fly by as quick as possible. He looked at me and got ready to speak again, but was interrupted by Mrs. Edwards.
"Alright class, get out your textbooks and start reading Chapter 5, section 2 quietly." I got up, asked for a book, and sat back down. I flipped through a bunch of pages, leaned back into my chair, and started reading. I glanced around the room after a few minutes. I forgot, I have the attention span of a flea, but anyways, from the corner of my eye, I saw the green eyed kid staring at me like he'd just seen something for the first time. I slunched farther into my chair and stared at my book, and wondered why he was staring. I looked at the clock. 9:15; I had the rest of the day to go.

The rest of the periods went even slower, and after years I was standing in the lunch line, trying to figure out what to eat. I looked at the salad, the pizza, and the lasagna and couldn't decide. My old school had more than 3 choices for the day. Either that or I got to the lunch line late. I guessed I got there too late. As I picked up my plate, I heard a "HURRY UP!" from someone behind me. It was a very large and tall guy, staring down at me. "The hell's taking you so long?" he asked irritated.
"I..I'm new here..sorry," I stuttered. He looked at me for a minute and then passed me by. It wasn't a great feeling. "Damn, the nerve of some people," I said to myself as I walked through the cafeteria to find a place to sit. The place was crowded, not one sit for me to grab. So I held onto my tray, and walked outside to the outdoot patio, which was also packed with students. I saw a spot under a huge oak tree. It was alright for me. No one there, quiet, so I wouldn't be bugged by anyone. I started heading over to the tree quickly, not paying attention to anyone or anything else. What happens next, I don't know, but I bumped into another tall guy, in a letterman jacket, really hard. So hard, I almost fell back.
"HEY WATCH IT!" he shouted, turning around and pushing me back. I stumbled and dropped my books and my lunch. The group of guys standing around him started howling with laughter, as I kneeled down to grab my things.
"I'm really, really sorry," I began. I grabbed some of my books and looked up, to see the same kid from Mrs. Edwards class turning around. His laugh trailed off as he realized it was me.
"Hey, its that new girl," he began. "You bump into everything, don't you?" he asked. I figured he saw my run in with the fat kid at lunch as well. I looked down and tried to gather all my things together. I picked them up as fast as I could and walked off quickly.
"HEY NEW GIRL! WHERE YA GOIN?!" was all I heard, as I ran into another part of the building. I didn't think the kids would be this rude, but I guess I was wrong.
